The West Dummerston Covered Bridge is the longest operational covered bridge located entirely within the state of Vermont. Built in 1872, it spans 282 feet and sits above the West River in Dummerston, Vermont. The side walls have diamond-shaped openings cut in them to admit additional light, which are evident on the floorboards.
